Our Enchanted Bloodlines

The magic behind every Bewitched Bantam

At Bewitched Bantams, every fluffy chick and proud pullet carries a story woven from some of the finest Silkie and Polish bloodlines in the country. As a hobby breeder just getting started on our Farmingdale, New Jersey homestead, I’m building a diverse, healthy, and charming flock by sourcing from dedicated, passionate breeders who share my love for these magical birds.

Strong genetics mean better health, temperament, fertility, and that signature “bewitched” personality our family adores.

Here’s where our current lines come from:

Magnolia Creek Farm

Our current grow-out pullets are from the Magnolia Creek Farm line. These birds come from a dedicated small farm focused on quality Silkies. We’re excited about the strong foundation they bring to our young flock — beautiful feathering, sweet temperaments, and solid genetics for future generations.

The Silkie Farm (Cypress, Texas)

Our mature Polish hens and Polish roosters hail from The Silkie Farm in Cypress, Texas. This established, family-owned operation has been raising organic, free-range, non-GMO Silkies and Polish since 2001. They are NPIP-certified and emphasize health, show quality, and that classic friendly, docile nature.

Their Polish birds add that dramatic crested “top-hat” flair we love, while maintaining excellent health and vigor. These grown birds form the heart of our Polish breeding program.

Good Witch Silkies & Apothecary

Our current chicks (hatched right here at home from shipped eggs) come from Good Witch Silkies (part of Good Witch Homestead & Apothecary). This enchanting small homestead focuses on Silkies with a touch of spiritual, holistic care. Their birds are known for strong fertility and lovely temperaments — perfect for a family homestead like ours.

Hoarder Haven Silkies (Coming Soon!)

We’re over the moon to soon add a new line from Hoarder Haven Silkies. I recently won some of their prized hatching eggs from their show lines! This dedicated breeder works with beautiful varieties (including various mottled colors) and focuses on quality show stock. Adding Hoarder Haven genetics will bring fresh diversity, vibrant colors, and that extra sparkle to our Bewitched Bantams flock.

Jess’ Fluffy Butts – Showgirl Variety

Our showgirl variety grow-outs come from Jess’ Fluffy Butts breeder. These birds bring that extra-special crested, fluffy charm — often called “Showgirls” for their striking appearance. They add wonderful personality and visual appeal to our mixed flock while contributing strong, healthy genetics.

Why Bloodlines Matter to Us

By thoughtfully combining these lines, we’re creating a diverse Bewitched Bantams family with:

As we grow toward NPIP certification this year, these foundational lines give us confidence in the health and quality of every egg we offer. Every chick that hatches here carries forward the hard work and passion of these wonderful breeders, blended with our own homestead love and care.

We’re so grateful to these breeders for sharing their magic with us. Watching our kids interact with birds that trace back to Texas show farms, whimsical homesteads, and dedicated small breeders makes the whole journey extra special.
